Where to stake your ETH in Canada
Ethereum switched to proof-of-stake in 2022, and staked ETH earns 3–5% APR paid in more ETH. Canadian residents have three practical options:
- Exchange staking (easiest). Kraken and NDAX both offer one-click ETH staking. You give up custody, and the exchange takes a cut of rewards (typically 15–25%).
- Liquid staking (best APR). Withdraw ETH to a wallet, deposit into Lido or Rocket Pool. You get stETH or rETH back, which you can use in DeFi while it earns.
- Solo staking (most decentralized). Run your own validator with 32 ETH. High technical bar but zero counterparty fee.
