How this compares to what exchanges show
Every exchange in the calculator uses one of two fee models:
- Explicit commission (NDAX, Kraken Pro, Bitbuy Pro). A small percentage — usually 0.2%–0.26% — added on top of the real market price. Cheapest for almost every trade size.
- Spread-based (Shakepay, Newton, Wealthsimple Crypto, Bitbuy Express). No explicit fee, but the quoted buy price is 1%–2% above the real market. Simpler UX; roughly 5–10× more expensive.
