Independence

BuyBitcoin.ca is independently owned and operated. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or otherwise connected to any of the exchanges, wallets, tax software, or brokerages we review. No third party has editorial control over what we publish.

We accept affiliate commission from some, but not all, of the services we recommend. This is disclosed on every relevant page. Commission does not affect ranking order, star ratings, or which platforms make our "best of" lists. See our full Affiliate Disclosure.

Accuracy

Every factual claim in a review is either sourced from the platform's official disclosures or verified through direct testing by our team.
When we cite an external statistic or study, we link to the primary source (not a secondary aggregator).
Prices, fees, and regulatory statuses are re-verified on a rolling monthly basis; the "Updated" date on each page reflects the last verification, not the last cosmetic edit.
Cryptocurrency prices and macro data cited in articles are dated. Where data changes materially, we update the article and note the change.

FINTRAC's public MSB registry for Money Services Business registration status
Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) for provincial regulatory alerts
Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) for member firm status
Canada Revenue Agency for tax guidance
Each exchange's published fee schedule, terms of service, and audit reports

Author attribution + expertise

The BuyBitcoin.ca Editorial Team consists of Canadian crypto researchers with hands-on experience across every major Canadian exchange since 2019. Individual article bylines will be added as we expand the team. Where an article requires specific technical or legal expertise (crypto tax, securities law), it is either written by or reviewed by a person with credentials in that field, and that is disclosed at the top of the article.

No member of our team currently holds employment, advisory positions, or material equity in any Canadian crypto exchange, brokerage, or tax software company.

Corrections
